Hattiesburg
I was driving around one day and the "bu-u-urg" part popped into my head. That happens sometimes--I'll get a part of a line or melody in my head when I'm out somewhere. I have to sing it over and over to myself so I don't forget it, then I get home and try to figure out how to play it. I made up the whole story around the "bu-u-urg" part. That is so ridiculously silly! But true. The song I wrote is totally, completely different from the song that got recorded. I couldn't play the rhythm of it myself on the guitar. David (guitarist) and Kelly (drummer) worked out a sort of Chuck Berry, Cajun swamp beat for it and David suggested the stop in the song, which made me giddy with excitement! I just loved it. David changed that song so much that I wanted to give him co-writing credit for it, but he wouldn't let me.
